ITN’s popular interactive musical programme ‘Chat n Music’ which has magnetized a large section of television viewers, will cross its significant 300th milestone on Friday, March 11.
Over the past few years, the Friday night live programme, which started on January 21, 2005, has become a favourite among the young and old alike, largely due to the variety and novelty being dished out every week.
Chat n Music has always featured a wide and diverse choice of personalities in its programmes thus promising variety to the audiences. Popular film and tele drama stars, music personalities, special figures representing the medical, beauty or business professions and at times journalists are chosen to take part in the much-looked forward to programme every week.
ITN’s present Deputy General Manager (Marketing) Upali Ranjitha was the first Executive Director of the programme. Chandika Wijesena took over the reins from him and while Udaya Kumara Tennekoon, Chaminda Rohan and others were the producers.
Presently the programme is being produced by Chaminda Sudarshana assisted by Samansiri Amaratunga. Initially too Chandana had been the assistant director of the programme with Buddhika Wickramadara and Piyal Weerasinghe.
Visharada Manoj Peiris who has been handling the music orchestration for Chat n Music right from the beginning, is also playing a crucial role in the coordination of artistes for the programme.
